ANDROID: gki - set CONFIG_USB_NET_AX88179_178A=y (usb gbit ethernet dongle)

    This driver creates an interface named "ethX", where X depends on
    what other networking devices you have in use.

This was already enabled on 'db845c_gki.fragment',
which suggests this hardware is reasonably common
(even though I don't have a dongle that requires it).
